The Oppressed Clown

As women, we are always seen as the other, simply a property of the male gaze. Since my adolescent early years, being positioned as an over-sexualised woman unearths constant tides and emotional streams of worthlessness and degradation. In this film the motif of the dressed clown is used as a metaphor to provoke questions around the relationship of audience, unwanted attention and the woman that lies behind the mask. When will we be able to stop living in the shadow of oppression?
